TNTOR Ultrathin 5000mAh Power Bank Wallet Charger Review
The TNTOR 5000mAh is a slim and lightweight power bank that can replenish your smartphone, tablet, and even your AirPods whenever you’re on the go. It also has promising safety features built-in, so you won’t have to worry about damaging the power bank or any connected devices while charging. The high-quality materials in the device also help to ensure you’re getting the best value for your buck.
Charging technology
TNTOR’s 5000mAh ultra slim power bank has a premium cell battery that was built using the same technology found in smartphone internal batteries. By using similar technology, the battery can perform more efficiently, providing up to 20% more output than standard polymer batteries.
This device has two ports, one output port, and one input port. The USB-A output port has a reading of 5V/2A, which will provide a relatively fast charge to your smartphone or tablet. It’s also compatible with Android and Apple devices, offering 2x charging speeds for iPhone, iPad Air, Samsung, HUAWEI, XIAOMI, OPPO, VIVO, and HTC products. It can charge AirPods nine times, iPhone 8 two times, iPhone X 1.3 times, and Galaxy Note 1.8 times.
The power bank is available either with a micro-USB, lightning or USB Type-C port, intended to charge the power bank, which can take up to 3.5 hours to replenish. Regardless of the type of connector, the output port has a reading of 5V/1.5A, and it comes with a cable to recharge the unit. This means you won’t have to deal with the hassle of looking for a micro-USB, lightning or USB Type-C cable just in case you don’t have one.
Pass-through charging is also supported on the power bank, but it tends to generate more heat, so it’ll feel warmer as it’s being charged.
Portability
The TNTOR 5000mAh ultra slim power bank excels in its compact design. Measuring 4.8” long, 2.6” wide and 0.24” thick, the device is ultrathin and small enough to fit in tiny spaces, like your pocket or even in your wallet. It’s also extremely light, weighing just 4 ounces, making it very easy to carry around whenever you’re on the go and it takes up very little space.
You can be assured this device is safe to take on a flight with you, wherever you go. It only has 19Wh, falling way below the 100Wh limit set by the TSA.
Compared to other devices, the TNTOR 5000mAh is one of the smallest and thinnest portable chargers. The impressive 0.24” thickness easily makes it stand out from the rest. Given its small size, it’s not surprising that it’s also extremely light at just 4 ounces (116g).
Look and feel
The TNTOR 5000mAh power bank is very slim, stylish and has a nice matte finish, giving it an attractive design for the small build. You can attach a carabiner in the corner if you want to carry it around easily, hands-free or as a keychain power bank. Its small size makes it perfect for a business trip, a vacation or simply just going about your daily routine. You can only purchase the device in black.
You can find both USB ports on the bottom of the device, offering a convenient plug-in experience for your electronic gadgets. On the bottom-right side, you’ll find four LED charging indicator lights and next to it, a battery status button. Four lights will illuminate when the device is 75-100% charged, three at 50-75%, two at 25-50%, and only one at 0-25%. Pressing the battery status button will also indicate how much power is left in the device.
Durability & build quality
The device is built with all-around high-quality protection. Its cover is made of superior austenitic stainless steel that provides the highest degree of protection for the internal structure. The robust and sturdy material allows it to withstand impact, like a drop. It can also survive harsh conditions when you’re outdoors or on a camping trip.
TNTOR 5000mAh is also built with advanced chip technology that guarantees safety and stability for any connected device and the power bank’s internal circuit. It has a plethora of built-in security features including output overcurrent protection, temperature resistance, output/input overvoltage protection, short circuit protection, overcharge and over-discharge protection, incorrect insertion protection, and PTC protective circuits for the battery cell. It’s even CE, FCC and RoHS certified. The battery’s lifespan will last over 400 charges, with minimal battery loss — less than 10%. You can also charge any device up to 5000 times before the power bank reaches the end of its life.
With the smart IC chip, the output current can be adjusted to suit the current needed by the device. This feature is responsible for preventing overcharging and slow charging while delivering safe and effective current output. It also provides protection from unstable voltages. When you’re no longer using the device, the power controller will automatically turn off the chip to prevent power loss.
The power bank has a one year warranty with friendly customer support. If the device has an issue, like a manufacturer’s defect or it doesn’t work as expected, you can get a free replacement within 90 days after purchase. There are also free repair services you can take advantage of, but it’s only effective within 180 days of original purchase. Once you activate your device’s warranty on the manufacturer’s website, you can receive more perks, including long term warranty, online service, etc.
