AUKEY 10000mAh Portable Wireless Charger Review
The Aukey 10000mAh Power Bank with Qi charging enables you to easily recharge your favorite devices on the go. It’s equipped with fast-charging technology that enables you to boost two smartphones at the same time, with the option of a low-power mode for low-output devices. You can also make the most of wireless feature for a user-friendly and quick approach to charging.
Charging Technology
The Aukey Wireless Power Bank is compatible with USB type C devices, including the iPhone 11 Pro, XS Max, Google Pixel 4 / 4 XL. The USB type C port comes with Power Delivery which can supply up to 18W of power.
The device also comes with a Quick Charge 3.0 port to charge your devices up to four times faster than conventional charging. This high-speed technology allows you to charge an iPhone 11 up to 50 percent in less than 30 minutes. It can also use it to charge a Nintendo Switch and other similar gaming consoles. These impressive short charging timeframes make it one of the quickest devices we’ve researched.
It also comes with a wireless Qi function, that allows you to charge any compatible device with a max output of 10W. In order to charge a device using the wireless charging feature, simply place it on top of the power bank and it’ll begin charging the battery at 10W. Bear in mind that this feature is only compatible with smartphones with Qi compatibilities, such as an iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X, Samsung Galaxy, Blackberry, and more.
Furthermore, this power bank also comes with a low-power mode, which is activated by pressing and holding the power button for two seconds. This allows you to safely charge low-current devices, such as Bluetooth headphones and fitness watches.
You can recharge the power bank with a laptop charger in less than four hours, which is impressive considering the TNTOR 5000mAh Ultra Slim Power Bank takes 3.5 hours and is half as powerful.
All-in-all, in terms of charging technology, Aukey provides a great deal with this product. It’s very rare to find a power bank that ticks all these features:
- Wireless Qi charging
- USB type C port with Power Delivery
- Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 port
- Low current charging
- Dual input options
Portability
The Aukey Wireless Power Bank measures 5.7 x 2.6 x 0.7 inches — around the length of an iPhone 10, which is 5.65 inches in length. It’s 0.7 inches in thickness, which is around double that of an iPhone 10. Compared to the other portable chargers we’ve reviewed on our website, that’s around the average width. Plus, it’s convenient enough to store in your pocket or bag on the go.
It weighs 8.8 ounces, which is only slightly heavier than the iPhone 10. The Aukey Wireless Charger is lighter than the iHome Power Bank — a device with similar compatibilities and features.
The dimensions and weight make this power bank suitable for traveling on planes while also making it the perfect contender for traveling to business meetings, trips with friends, or long car journeys. Not to mention that at 38.5Wh, it’s way below the 100Wh limit set by the FAA and TSA.
Although its length could be shorter to conveniently fit into a small purchase, most of this device’s highlights are in its quick-charging technology and wireless features.
You can also charge your smartphone while storing the power bank in your bag. Plus, the wireless-charging technology makes it a great portable choice for times when you don’t have access to a cord.
Look and Feel
There’s an elegance and sophistication about the Aukey 10000mAh power bank with Qi charging that makes it suitable for business use while also making it one of the smartest-looking portable chargers we’ve reviewed so far on our website. It isn’t available in different colors, which might be disappointing for some, though, more focus has been put into its charging technology.
The most significant feature of its design is the non-slip silicone surface. This feature allows you to keep your smartphone on the power bank while using the wireless charging technology and reducing any chances of slips and falls.
It has a matte finish, which makes the power bank professional and low-maintenance to clean, too. The black shade also makes fingerprints and marks on the surface less visible. Its curved edges exude an elegant finishing point that shows care and thought has gone into its design. This also cushions the power bank while transporting it in your bag or pocket.
The front of the power bank boasts the Aukey symbol, making it look much classier than text and adding to a minimalist, stylish design. To the right is the power button, where you can switch between a low-charging mode and wireless charging, while also switching-on the device.
Durability and Build Quality
We’re pleased to discover that the Aukey Power Bank boasts an array of safety features. For example, it’s designed with built-in safeguards to protect your smartphone from overcharging, overheating, and excessive current. These features are common with most of the devices we’ve reviewed, though, they allow you to have peace of mind each time you use it. Customers also receive a one-year warranty against any faults or malfunctions.
The non-slip design reduces the risk of your devices slipping while charging. Plus, the low-charging mode protects fragile devices from overheating. The curved edges make it ergonomic to hold in your hands, while the power button isn’t protruding, helping to avoid accidental switch-ons when not necessary.
We couldn’t locate any information regarding the materials or additional features such as it being shockproof or waterproof. However, many customers were happy with the power bank’s durability and power, with no issues of it suddenly cutting out.
